General Statement

The University Union personnel management program will continue to be operated by agreement with the CSUS Foundation and the California State University Sacramento.

Guidelines and Procedures

Personnel Management Practice

It is the policy of the Union Board and agreement has been reached with CSU, Sacramento that:

  1. All current and continuing full-time employees of the University Union of CSU, Sacramento may, at the employee's option, continue to be State employees of the CSU system in reimbursed positions.
  2. Effective July 1985 all new full-time employees of the University Union shall be employees of the CSUS Foundation, Inc. in reimbursed positions with the exception of the University Union Director who shall remain a State employee of the CSU system in an reimbursed position.
  3. All continuing University employees shall receive not less than the same wages, benefits and working conditions as all other University employees in like classifications. New employees shall be provided wages, benefits and working conditions within CSUS Foundation personnel guidelines, policies and practices.
  4. All job duties, job descriptions, positions and classifications for continuing University Union, State reimbursed employees shall be as determined and approved by the University Personnel Office through application of CSU classification standards and CSU and CSUS personnel policies and procedures. 
  5. All job duties, job descriptions, positions and classifications for continuing University Union, CSUS Foundation reimbursed employees shall be as determined and approved by the CSUS Foundation Personnel Office through application of CSUS Foundation classification standards and CSUS Foundation personnel policies and procedures.
  6. For University Union State reimbursed employees University personnel, affirmative action and administrative directives and procedures will be considered as Union directives and procedures and will fully apply to those employees of the University Union equally with all other University employees. These procedures shall include but not be limited to payroll, benefits, recruitment and hiring, permanent status, tenure, and grievance procedures.

For University Union staff in CSUS Foundation reimbursed positions, CSUS Foundation affirmative action, administrative personnel directives and corporate policies and procedures will be considered as University Union directives and procedures. These procedures shall include but not be limited to payroll, benefits, recruitment, hiring, permanent status, and grievance procedures.
